Joplin Health Department Food Inspections (August 8) | Local news

The Joplin Globe publishes summaries of routine inspections and follow-ups conducted by the Joplin Health Department. Audited businesses either pass or fail based on violations found during the audit. These violations fall into two categories:

• Priority violations are more serious and involve improper handling, storage and preparation of food. The Globe lists the number and summary of each violation.

• Basic violations are less serious and relate to equipment, maintenance and general cleanliness. The Globe only publishes the number.

A failed inspection can result in a variety of corrections based on the types of violations found. Complete copies of each report are available from the Joplin Health Department.
