2022 CrossFit Games Day Five Results — Champions are here to stay

The 2022 NOBULL CrossFit Games in Madison, Wisconsin are over — atop the podium are the same winners as last year’s competition. Overall men’s winner Justin Medeiros became the third man in history to win back-to-back games (joining Rich Froning and Mat Fraser).

Australian athlete Tia-Clair Toomey won her sixth consecutive Games title, being the winningest individual competitor in CrossFit competition history. However, the star of Day Five in the Individual divisions was Laura Horvath.

Stellar performances in all three events of the day put Horvath in third place on the overall podium, behind Toomey and runner-up Mal O’Brien. Check out the full results from day five below:

Individual Event 11 Results — The Alpaca

The first event on the final day of competition in Madison was where Roman Khrennikov cemented his place as the second Fittest Man on Earth®. In rainy conditions that forced organizers to remove rope climbs from the event for safety, Khrennikov crossed the finish line first and put plenty of distance between him and Ricky Garard with two races to go.

Horvath also built the momentum she needed with a huge win in the first event of the final day. He smoked the field by 40 seconds on The Alpaca to record a victory.

Single Event Results 12 — Return nine

Horvath went two-for-two on the final day, scoring another huge win in Event 12, hauling the heaviest barbell and heaviest deadlift ever scheduled in CrossFit competition. Jeffrey Adler, a master with heavy tools, also made quick work of the event.

A second-place finish for Toomey in the Back Nine had effectively locked her in as the overall winner, even with one event remaining. O’Brien was too far behind Toomey to claim the top spot overall, but too far ahead of the rest of the field that her silver medal position could be threatened.

Campbell took her second event win of the weekend in her Games debut — a remarkable performance as she finished the Games 16th overall. Toomey finished 10th in the event and secured her place in CrossFit history.
